“It is my political death that is being demanded”: on TF1, Marine Le Pen violently attacks the prosecution after her indictment

Threatened by a sentence of ineligibility which would destroy her Élysée ambitions for 2027, Marine Le Pen was the guest of the TF1 news this Friday evening. In the middle of the so-called “parliamentary assistants” trial, the president of the National Rally (RN) group in the Assembly once again denounced the partiality of the magistrates and their “revolting” indictment, the latter demanding five years of ineligibility with provisional execution – that is to say with immediate application even in the event of an appeal – which could eject him from the presidential race.

Their supposed relentlessness has, according to her, only one goal: “To prevent 11 million French people from voting for whoever they want” during the next presidential election. “It is my political death that we want,” denounced Marine Le Pen, a few seconds after having mentioned a “political death sentence”. “We are innocent of the alleged acts and we have not stolen any of the French laws,” assured the leader of the RN.

“I arrived with the hope of justice, I was presented at all the hearings. I realized that it was not the litigant who was targeted, but the political target,” Marine Le Pen also lamented, on TF1. “Sorry, but the indictment must be delivered by magistrates subject to impartiality,” she added. I’m not naive enough not to understand what the message is. The idea that we could deprive the French of their choice is unbearable. »

At the trial of the parliamentary assistants, the prosecution, judging Marine Le Pen at the “center” of an “organized system” aimed at making the European Parliament the “cash cow” of the RN, issued severe requisitions against her on Wednesday: five years in prison, three of which are suspended, a fine of 300,000 euros… and therefore five years of ineligibility with provisional execution.

In response, the far-right party launched a petition on Thursday to “defend democracy” and “support Marine” Le Pen. “The prosecution wishes to circumvent the democratic and electoral process by eliminating Marine Le Pen,” writes the National Rally on X (formerly Twitter).
