Several witnesses claim that a fire broke out this Friday early evening in Anderlecht, in the Brussels region.
“Fire at the Viangro factory”. Many of you have reported to us an impressive fire coming from the establishment located rue de la Bienvenue. “We heard an explosion”says a witness, who works nearby. “We went to look at the window and saw the flames.”
“The firefighters arrived quickly”continues our alert. Emergency services and police are on site.
Access to the surrounding area is temporarily blocked for motorists.
The Brussels firefighters confirm their intervention for a truck on fire in the parking lot of the Viangro company. “The flames licked the walls of the factory”continue the firefighters.
The presence of industrial products, including ammonia, caused the fire to immediately escalate. The spread was narrowly avoided.
Factory staff on site were evacuated. There are no known injuries at this time.
The outbreak is under control and there is no danger outside the site.
