Éric Gonzalez has been elected in opposition in Ouzouer-sur-Trézée, with Anne Leclerc, his running mate, since December 2022. A few days ago, he sent his resignation to Denis Gervais, the mayor. He explains his decision.
Why did you choose to resign?
“At the beginning, without talking about the opposition, I tried to work with them, but it’s no use. Except with Pascal Vatan, the first deputy, who listens. But he doesn’t have the power.”
A year ago, you addressed the mayor in the municipal council, telling him to “leave the keys to the truck with the deputies and resign.” What about a year later?
“It’s even worse. He has been seriously ill. Even for him and for his health, it would be better if he resigned. And without wanting to rely on his health problems, even when he is present, he is absent . He is incapable of being mayor.”
He doesn’t know how to delegate, but he still wants to follow through. I no longer want to condone this state of affairs.
What do you think of the work that is being done?
“There is always an excuse not to do things. It’s a problem of dynamism and fatigue. Everything is like that. If you shout a little, things will be done. But, the mayor has nothing to do with it. nothing. When we add all of this together, we note that there is an inability to manage a human group And there is another problem: the mayor no longer lives in Ouzouer-sur-Trézée. .”

Do you think the councilors should resign?
“I’m not even calling on people to resign. It’s a waste of time as long as we’re not listened to. I’m fed up with the uselessness, while respecting the work that Pascal Vatan does . Anyway, there are people from his municipal council who have disappeared.”

Do you think you will run again in future elections in 2026?
“We’ll see in two years, but it’s not at my age that I’m going to have municipal ambitions. And even if I have ideas, I don’t know enough about the legislation.”
