A Moldovan homeless man killed in Lyon

In Lyon, the body of a homeless man of Moldovan nationality was found Monday morning near the Perrache station with a large wound on his head and a concrete block at his side. In Évry, a man was hit in the face in front of the Évry-Courcouronnes station on October 23 while he was asleep. Seriously injured, the victim was given total incapacity for work for 45 days.

It was “the genetic analyses” which validated the connection established by the investigators between the two cases, said the Lyon prosecutor’s office. The latter will “relinquish responsibility in the coming days for this investigation to the benefit of the Évry public prosecutor’s office in the interest of good administration of justice”.

The suspect involved in other cases in Dijon and Strasbourg?

An investigating judge was appointed after this attack and the suspect was to be presented to him this Friday. The Évry public prosecutor's office requested his indictment for attempted murder and his placement in pre-trial detention.

In addition to the murder in Lyon and the attempted homicide in Évry, investigators are wondering about the role of the suspect in several attacks carried out with a similar modus operandi in Dijon, Strasbourg and Rotterdam.
