This Thursday, the Archbishop of Dijon (Côte-d'Or), Monseigneur Antoine Hérouard, published a press release reporting sexual abuse committed in the diocese. One of them is precise and implicates Father Dominique Nicolas, who died on February 14, 2021, reports the site Actu.fr. The archbishop launches an appeal for victims.
The facts date back to the 1980s at the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul parish in Dijon. One of the testimonies collected mentions several sexual abuses against a young minor. Among the other reports, one was recorded in the 1990s, but without legal action.
Father Nicolas died in 2021
The news is all the more shocking as Father Nicolas was very popular with the community. But the archbishop, aware of the impact of these accusations, wants above all to reestablish the truth and support the victims. The diocese is now looking for other victims who may have suffered this type of behavior at the time.
The latter could thus benefit from the support of the Independent National Recognition and Reparation Authority (INIRR). The archbishop invites all those who wish to testify to contact him by telephone at 03 80 63 16 68 or by email: [email protected]
