A fire that occurred on Thursday, November 14 in New York, in the United States, caused an impressive release of smoke at the top of a luxury building located in western Manhattan. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been clarified.
Very bad memories. In New York this Thursday, November 14, a fire on the roof of a 44-story luxury apartment building projected plumes of black smoke into the sky of the Big Apple. The flames broke out at The Set mixed-use building, located on the west side of Manhattan. They were first reported around 11:30 a.m., the city’s fire department told NBC.
The fire was declared under control 40 minutes after being reported, a fire department spokesperson said. No injuries were reported. Some 80 firefighters responded to the scene, while the 10th Avenue area was temporarily closed, from West 34th Street to West 36th Street.
Two hours after the first reports, emergency personnel left the scene and the all-clear signal was given. The fire captain told our colleagues across the Atlantic that he was currently still investigating the causes of the fire.
Studios in the luxury apartment tower, called The Set, rent for more than $5,000 per month, or more than 4,700 euros, according to the building’s website.
