The Sangomar project continues to demonstrate exceptional potential. The production data for the month of October 2024 confirms the positive dynamic initiated since the start of the project. Indeed, the field generated 2.82 million barrels of crude oil, bringing the total volume produced, between June and October, to 10.99 million barrels. “Production is constantly increasing.
Since launch, Sangomar's production has continued to grow, reaching a plateau of around 3 million barrels per month in August and September. This performance is the result of a progressive optimization of the 12 wells in the field,” we read in a note that reached us yesterday, Thursday, November 14.
According to the source, alongside this increase in production, Senegal has managed to effectively market its oil. Of the 10.57 million barrels extracted between June and October, 11 cargoes were shipped to international markets from the FPSO Léopold Sédar Senghor. Production forecasts for 2024 remain unchanged. “Senegal aims to maintain a plateau of 100,000 barrels per day for the rest of the year. This figure demonstrates the confidence of the project stakeholders in the sustainability of this resource,” underlines the document.
