Thursday against Israel, the France team signed another goalless draw. This is already the fourth time this year that the Blues have finished 0-0, dusting off an old record in this area.
The numbers were really not on the French team’s side on Thursday evening in Saint-Denis. Already the worst crowd in the history of the Blues at the Stade de France, this meeting against Israel will not be remembered. Far from it.
Worse, Didier Deschamps’ men, by not finding the opening despite a plethora of scoring opportunities, equaled a sad record: they signed their fourth goalless draw of the year 2024 (after Canada, the Countries -Bas and Portugal). This is the highest total of 0-0 in a calendar year for the Blues since 2004 (5 – Netherlands, Brazil, Israel, Republic of Ireland and Poland).
The recurring breakdown in 2024
Note that the French, who shot no less than 24 times on goal (8 attempts on target), also failed to score for the fifth time this year. Unheard of since 2013 (6 times).

While the meeting was classified as high risk and shunned by part of the public, this Nations League match only brought together 16,611 spectators. This is the worst attendance in the history of the Blues at the Stade de France, which presented terribly empty stands for 90 minutes.
