“The AI ​​revolution is already underway,” insists Michel Colombié, president of the Occitanie Regional Transport Observatory. The organization is banking on a profound transformation of mobility and wishes to raise awareness among players in the sector during a regional meeting organized this Friday, November 15, 2024, at Montpellier Méditerranée airport, commune of Mauguio. Two round tables, discussions between experts and institutions… The opportunity to measure the extent of the changes to come.

L’Artificial intelligence (AI) occupies an increasingly important place in the mobility sector, will disrupt practices and redefine transport uses. In order to anticipate this change, the ORT invites professionals and decision-makers. The event will take place in Hall 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be hosted by Virginie Galligani.

The regional meetings are structured around two thematic round tables. The debates will focus on the possibilities offered by AI, but also on the limits it imposes. In addition to technology and AI experts, institutional representatives will also be present to provide their vision. Julie Frêche, vice-president of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, and Jean-Luc Gibelin, vice-president of the Occitanie Region, will take part in the debates.

Two round tables

The first round table, entitled “AI for the optimization of mobility and transport”, will explore ways to make transport systems more fluid and efficient. Jean-Michel Estibals, co-founder and president of Railwai, will speak alongside Fabrice Valentin, head of artificial intelligence at Airbus, and Guillaume Gibon, director of Mobility, Data and AI Product Line at Matawan Mobility. These speakers will address concrete themes such as managing passenger flows, reducing waiting times and predicting transport needs.

The second round table, called “Mobilities of the future, innovations that shake up! », will focus on disruptive innovations that redefine the transport landscape. Among the speakers, David Borot, director of the Emerging Mobility Innovation Programs at SNCF, will share his expertise on new mobility models. He will be accompanied by Benjamin Persiani, CEO of EENUEE, as well as Sylvain Martin, AI expert at the DSNA Technology and Innovation Department. Participants will discuss the impact of AI on sectors as varied as rail, aeronautics and urban mobility. Questions around security, the reliability of new technologies and necessary regulations will be addressed
