The defender Tony DeAngelo was never afraid to voice his opinion, which more often than not placed him in uncomfortable situations or simply in trouble.
His NHL career ended abruptly after being kicked out of a few teams, notably the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Now playing in the KHL, with the St. Petersburg SKA, he is the teammate of the young Ivan Demidov which he seems to adore.
He has also started to take an interest in current events at the Canadian and from time to time even gives his opinion publicly.
Today he commented on a publication by the analyst Grant McCagg who predicts a great NHL career for the defenseman Logan Maillouxwho is doing particularly well in the American League these days.
In response, DeAngelo agreed with McCagg’s opinion before outbidding by saying he still didn’t understand why Marc Bergevin received so much criticism for selecting a first-round talent with a first-round pick.
How would we tell you that, Tony?
Something tells us that if Bergevin was so criticized for his decision it is possibly due to the inappropriate actions of Mailloux and his guilty verdict by a trial judge in addition to his request to all teams not to be drafted this that year to allow him to work on himself first.
The player’s talent came second to his image and values of the time. Fortunately, the young hopeful made the necessary efforts and has since taken charge to improve his image and learn from his mistakes. It is absurd, however, that DeAngelo still does not understand the criticism received for his selection.
Unsurprisingly, Internet users did not fail to refresh his memory in comments.
