: a man hit by an RER during an RATP security intervention, investigation opened for attempted murder

A man was seriously injured this Thursday, November 14 at the -Université RER A station.

Having fallen on the rails after being unbalanced following an intervention by RATP security, he was hit by a train arriving at the platform.

An investigation is opened for attempted homicide.

A passenger was hit by an RER A train at midday on Thursday in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine). Having fallen on the tracks after being unbalanced during an intervention by RATP security agents, the man, seriously injured, was transported to hospital. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy, we learned from the prosecution. The latter opened an investigation for attempted murder, entrusted to the Ile-de- network brigade (BRF). A police custody was in progress Thursday afternoon.

The incident, which severely disrupted traffic for nearly four hours, took place around 1:30 p.m. at Nanterre Université station on RER line A, RATP said in a press release. “During an intervention by an RATP security team, an individual was knocked off balance and struck by a train arriving at the platform, in circumstances which remain to be established” indicates the Autonomous Transport Authority.

His boss, Jean Castex, requested that an internal investigation be immediately carried out.in collaboration and transparency with the associations representing users who sit on the RATP Board of Directors.

“The RATP victim assistance unit was immediately triggered, and the RATP will continue to keep itself informed of developments in the victim’s state of health,” concludes the management in its press release.
