Launch of the 7th edition of the Ilan HALIMI Prize

The Ilan Halimi Prize was created in 2018 by DILCRAH as part of the National Plan to Combat Racism and Anti-Semitism.

Othman NASROU, Secretary of State in charge of citizenship and the fight against discrimination, launched the new edition of the Ilan HALIMI Prize this Tuesday, November 12.

This prize bears the name of Ilan HALIMI, a young Frenchman kidnapped, kidnapped and tortured because he was Jewish.

This award honors youth engagement against stereotypes, acts and speeches of hate through concrete field projects. This involves mobilizing and rewarding groups of at least 5 young people under the age of 25 accompanied by a relevant adult, in a school setting or not, who have carried out an action contributing to reducing racist and anti-Semitic prejudices. This action may, for example, fall within the cultural, sporting, digital or public intervention fields.

Since its first edition, the DILCRAH has received numerous applications in the school, university or associative context, in the fields of sport, culture or history, for the production of podcasts, films, books, exhibitions, live shows, for collecting testimonies or researching archives, etc.

It is a veritable proliferation of initiatives which testify to the vitality of young people when it comes to carrying out concrete projects promoting fraternity, respect for otherness, solidarity and openness to others.
