There existed, in the town of Saint-Pierre-de-Côle, a veterans' association which was put on hold. Thanks to the will of a few, concerned that this institution does not disappear from the municipal territory, it was decided to create a new association which bears the title of association of veterans of Saint-Pierre-de-Côle.

LAt the constitutive general assembly, the office was renewed as follows: president, Michel Gabric; vice-president, Didier Meynard (also flag bearer); treasurer, Christian Mélier; secretary, Jean-Michel Lahieyte; member of the office and standard bearer, Robert Lassimoulias.

The crucial importance of good cash flow

After his appointment as president, Michel Gabric admitted to being surprised. “I was elected unanimously. I didn't expect it, being very naive in the functioning of an association. I know that I can count on the entire elected office at my side. I hope not to be the last president and that together we will succeed in guaranteeing the future of our association. For this we need all of you. »

And for an association to function well, it needs a cash flow that allows it. “For this there are essentially the contributions of the members, and I am counting on the good will of the members already known and those to come which I hope will be numerous,” he announces. If everything works well, we have no shortage of projects and perhaps we will be able to enhance traditional ceremonies with convivial meals. I listen to everyone. »

“Indeed, there is no shortage of ideas,” emphasizes Jean-Michel Lahieyte. The first concerns the next ceremony on November 11 for which we would like there to be a lot of people, for two reasons: on the one hand for the smooth running of the ceremony and on the other hand it will perhaps allow to recruit other members. »

The association is full of ideas for the future. A video was made with the children of the village, the members would like it to be broadcast in public. Likewise, the exhibition which rests in the basement of the village hall, 'deserves a longer duration than the last time [NDLR : elle avait duré deux jours il y a quelques années]. For this we must find an exhibition location, adds the president. And maybe take a trip at a not too expensive cost.”
