Do you use artificial intelligence in your work? If this is not the case, your colleagues certainly do not deprive themselves of it. According to a study carried out by FLASHS and commissioned by Hostinger on 2000 tertiary employees, many people use AI to generate their emails. You have certainly received professional emails written by algorithms without even realizing it!

Nearly half of professional emails are written by an AI

The arrival of AI in our professional lives has not happened gradually. ChatGPT came out of nowhere one day, and the next day everyone was using it! According to the FLASHS study, the use of generative AI for writing emails is already very advanced :

“Nearly 4 in 10 employees (39%) and more than half of managers (55%) use artificial intelligence to write their professional emails.”

Almost 50% of the letters you receive in your mailbox were therefore written, in part or in full, by Artificial Intelligence.

Why use AI for this type of task?

The study also looks at the reasons that push employees to turn to this type of tool. 47% of them say they use AI “Correct and improve style” comes first, followed by “translate” (40%).

However, the time has not yet come for complete automationsince only 4% of employees (and managers for that matter) admit to having their professional emails “completely written” by Artificial Intelligence. With the exponential development of ChatGPT and its competitors, we imagine that this percentage will increase rapidly in the years to come.
