The Sangomar oil project, located off the coast of Senegal, continues to produce significant results. The month of October 2024 marks a new milestone for this oil field, with a production of 2.82 million barrels of crude oil. This figure brings the project’s total production, from June to October, to 10.99 million barrels, of which 10.57 million have already been lifted and marketed in 11 cargoes.
With all of its 12 wells in operation, the Sangomar field maintains a production rate which is consistent with initial forecasts. Daily production thus remains in line with projections of 100,000 barrels per day, ensuring an estimated volume of 11.70 million barrels for the year 2024.
The marketing of Sangomar’s oil is proceeding smoothly in the international market, meeting global demand and generating revenues crucial for Senegal’s economic development. Since the start of operations last June, production has continued to intensify, positioning Sangomar as an important player in the country’s new oil industry.
The positive results obtained this October confirm Sangomar’s growth dynamic and the stability of operations. The project, which constitutes a source of income and employment, is expected to play a central role in Senegal’s energy development while stimulating the economic sector in the long term.
