North Korean soldiers fighting, killing, being taken prisoner or capturing enemies on European territory? This prospect, unimaginable just a few weeks ago, almost absurd, is becoming reality. On Wednesday, November 13, the National Intelligence Services, the South Korean spy agency, confirmed that North Korean soldiers were engaged in combat in the Kursk region, in support against an incursion by Ukrainian troops on Russian soil.
These assertions follow those of the South Korean, Ukrainian and American intelligence services, which had already detected the landing of thousands of North Korean soldiers in Vladivostok in mid-October, with the prospect of a future deployment. According to South Korean services, 12,000 North Korean soldiers could eventually be deployed, first in Russia and then possibly on Ukrainian territory.
