In , a nursery catches fire, disaster averted

The tragedy was narrowly avoided. A fire broke out on Tuesday, November 12, early in the afternoon, in a multi-reception building in Malesherbois (), a town near Fontainebleau, reports blue Orléans.

The establishment houses the PMI premises, a leisure center and the Fleur de Coton nursery. It housed children taking a nap when the fire broke out.

The occupants of the space, 19 adults and 23 children aged up to 4 years, were evacuated. It was the director of technical services who raised the alarm, after being informed of the appearance of smoke in the multi-reception area. “The professionals kept their calm, taking the necessary equipment to secure the children”specifies Stéphanie Fernandes, deputy director of multi-reception, to our colleagues at Parisian.

Work on the roof

Although work was in progress on the roof of the building, the causes of the fire have not yet been identified. No injuries were reported. The children will not return immediately to the nursery. The assessment of material damage is underway.
