What is this portable console from Asus?

The Asus Rog Ally Z1 Extreme looks like most portable consoles, and inevitably brings to mind the Steam Deck. Even if it may seem fragile at first glance, due to the plastic materials used for its design, the finishes remain very neat. The console also offers very good ergonomics, with a good layout of the buttons and a good grip. Its 608g weight can, however, feel a little after a long gaming session.

The Rog Ally Z1 Extreme may be a gaming console, but it’s not the most welcoming machine out there. The fault of Windows 11, poorly suited to offering instinctive and pleasant navigation. Fortunately, Asus adds an Armory Crate SE software overlay which simplifies the whole thing. You’ll have access to plenty of presets, as well as the ability to organize your game library.
