This historic Grand Prix is spared. A few years ago, rumors about the end of the Monaco Grand Prix made a bit of noise in the paddock. This Thursday, October 14, Liberty Media, owner of F1, made a decision. The Monaco round has seen its lease extended until 2031 in the F1 calendar.
This year, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) finally won his local Grand Prix, the Monegasque knowing the city by heart. The end of a curse for him, after having experienced varying fortunes, the route being renowned for its difficulty and leaving little room for error.
The “Triple Crown” extended with
The Monaco street circuit is also one of the oldest, designed in 1929 with an inaugural race that same year. The round is also part of what is called “the Triple Crown” in motorsport, an honorary award for drivers who manage to win a Monaco Grand Prix (F1), the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Endurance WEC) and the Indianapolis 500 (Indycar). The Briton Graham Hill is still the only holder, even if there is only one victory left in Indianapolis for Fernando Alonso, 43 years old and still engaged in F1 for 2025.
