“We are surprised, flattered and proud that Sherweb is the recipient of this great recognition. Philanthropy is essential to the development of a society, and the existence of this type of prize encourages the contribution of corporations,” notes Matthew Cassar, co-CEO and co-founder of the leader in the cloud computing market.
The general director of the UdeS Foundation and the Alumni Relations Department, Pascal Grégoire, underlines the importance of Sherweb’s philanthropic gesture: “This exemplary donation to the University of Sherbrooke as well as the recognition of the The company as a major corporate donor par excellence illustrates the company’s deep commitment to our institution and the community. Sherweb is a source of inspiration for corporations who also wish to contribute to the common good through significant and sustainable actions.”
The $1.5 million donation, the largest in the history of the company created in 1998 by brothers Peter and Matthew Cassar, demonstrates the value placed on social responsibility at Sherweb and the attachment of its founders to ‘UdeS. Between 2003 and 2024, the company also hired more than a hundred interns from UdeS, and it employs several dozen people who graduated from the same place. Furthermore, Sherweb has financially supported the UdeS Foundation since 2012.
