To secure the Football match between France and Israel on November 14, the Ministry of the Interior is planning a vast security system. On BFMTV, Bruno Retailleau announced the closure of the brands installed around the sports venue, from 3:45 p.m.
This meeting will focus all the attention of law enforcement. This Thursday, November 14, Didier Deschamps’ Blues face Israel in the League of Nations. But the sporting importance of the match is overshadowed by the tense context in which it takes place.
The National Anti-Hooliganism Division has classified this match as very high risk, requiring the establishment of sufficient security.
A double security perimeter
Guest of BFMTV this Wednesday, November 13, Bruno Retailleau detailed the measures put in place to ensure the smooth running of the event. First of all, the surroundings of the stadium will be secure.
“Shops will close from 3:45 p.m.,” announced the Minister of the Interior. The police headquarters ordered the various stores installed around the Stade de France to close their doors in the afternoon.
At the same time, a double security perimeter will be put in place. “A first perimeter will allow the police to carry out searches and another which will allow the Football Federation staff to carry out a certain number of concordance checks between the identity document and the nominative ticket,” adds -he.
These checks carried out by the police will not stop after the match and will be maintained temporarily.
At the same time, prefects were asked to be vigilant on public transport to the heart of the capital. The Minister of the Interior notably asked to organize in-depth flow control operations in order to detect and control any suspicious person in SNCF and bus stations, public transport, toll booths.
A “very locked” device
In total, 4,000 gendarmes and 1,600 stewards and security forces who depend on the Football Federation will be on the field to secure the match which will be attended by 12,000 to 13,000 spectators.
Bruno Retailleau also detailed the measures taken within the Stade de France. Anti-intrusion gates will be raised around the field, police officers will circulate in uniform in the corridors, while others, in civilian clothes, will be present “to bring to justice those who spread hate slogans”. Elite men from the raid will also be in place.
This device, described as “very closed” by the Minister of the Interior, is considered essential. “It would have been much simpler, for the Minister of the Interior that I am, to abdicate,” he said.
“If the sowers of hatred, as I call them, test us and sense our weakness, and if we continually retreat, then this will be an encouragement to go beyond and cross all possible limits,” explains Bruno Retailleau .
Asked about the safety of French Jews of Jewish faith in Paris and Israeli supporters present for the match, Bruno Retailleau assured that “they will be safe, I invite them to come to the match for those who want to attend this meeting. “
“It is important that all fans can enter the stadium safely and then return home in complete safety,” the minister stressed on BFMTV.
