Three people have been indicted and a fourth is wanted after the murder on Sunday evening of a passer-by, stabbed to death on the outskirts of Lille, the prosecution said on Wednesday, according to theAFP.
“For no reason”
The fifty-year-old was stabbed on Sunday around 6 p.m. in Marcq-en-Barœul (North), near Lille, “for no reason”according to police, while walking a friend's dog along a canal.
“A judicial investigation has been opened on the charge of intentional homicide in a state of obvious intoxication”Lille prosecutor Carole Étienne told AFP on Wednesday, adding that three people, referred to the prosecution on Tuesday evening, were indicted.
An individual on the run
“The facts are disputed” by the suspects. “Two were provisionally imprisoned, the third placed under judicial supervision. A fourth person is wanted »said the prosecutor.
The police initially reported the arrest of only one person, described as homeless.
After the attack, which took place near a DIY store and a fast food establishment, a jogger, an emergency doctor, had performed first aid procedures and attempted cardiac massage, in vain, indicated a municipal source.
