The body of a homeless man was discovered Monday in Lyon. The suspect was arrested in Toulon: investigators believe they have got their hands on a serial killer.

The discovery of a body found with violent head injuries in the center of Lyon on Monday accelerated the first police investigations concerning a man suspected of serial murders. A CCTV camera filmed the man violently hitting him in the head.
According to Actu Lyon, the Lyon victim was a 39-year-old homeless man, whose name was Emilio. He had lived between Perrache station and Place Bellecour, in the 2nd arrondissement of the city, for several years.
According to AFP, the suspect was arrested on a train near Toulon on Tuesday evening, following coordination work between French law enforcement and the Rotterdam police services. In this large city in the Netherlands, a homeless man was also violently attacked on the night of November 4 to 5, using a clearly similar method of operation. The suspect is suspected of being a very active murderer; the latest elements collected by Le Parisien journalists from investigators suggest that the man could be behind three other murders in Évry, Strasbourg and Dijon. The investigation was opened in France for assassination.
Le Parisien, which cites a police source, indicates that the suspect is of Cameroonian nationality and that he is under OQTF (obligation to leave French territory). Toulon prosecutor Samuel Finielz gave some new information on the case investigated on the man suspected of the Lyon murder. “After checking the file of wanted persons, (Lyon investigators) realized that he was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by an investigating judge in Evry. The man was placed in detention and measures will be taken so that he is transferred to the ordering investigating judge”, that is to say in Evry, said the prosecutor.

As reported by the Dutch media, which are closely following the case, the homeless man from Rotterdam attacked by the suspect is currently between life and death in hospital, plunged into a coma. The victim was once declared dead; however, his condition remains critical.
