The future national engine for eco-design of buildings is taking shape

The Target project is on the verge of achieving its own. On November 6, the team responsible for establishing the future national building eco-design engine, called Colibri, delivered its work. The Scientific and Technical Building Center (CSTB), the Effinergie collective, the HQE-GBC Alliance and the Ecological Transition Agency (Ademe) have thus published their specifications, emphasizing the “strongly collaborative approach” which guided their objective: to make this engine the reference for all construction stakeholders over the 15 years following its commissioning.

For two years, the team actually conducted a series of interviews with all willing stakeholders: public authorities, design offices, software publishers, associations, researchers, real estate professionals, energy companies, etc. All these actors were thus able to “co-construct the objectives” of Colibri in concert “to identify needs and prioritize them”explains Angélique Sage, technical manager at Effinergie.

It was necessary to imagine all the possibilities likely to be taken into account in the new engine while ensuring that it has a modular architecture and “open-source”. Thanks to this consultation, numerous needs were identified and then integrated into the specifications.
