In Brélès, a fire devastates a Brescanvel farmhouse

Sdis 29 mobilized 28 personnel from the emergency centers of Brest, Saint-Renan, Ploudalmézeau and Plouguerneau, this Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in the morning, to fight against a fire which had broken out in a farmhouse at a place called Brescanvel, near the Brescanvel manor, in Brélès. The alert was given at 8:37 a.m. Two fire trucks, a motorized ladder, two large capacity tankers, an ambulance and a command vehicle were mobilized. Farmers in the area spontaneously came to support with their water barrels.

A woman evacuated

The fire started in an outbuilding adjoining the house. The emergency services extinguished it using three lances. The system put in place helped prevent the disaster from spreading to the house, but caused a small flood. In the end, the fire destroyed 100 m2 of the 300 m2 of building. Only one person was present in the accommodation. The 53-year-old resident was evacuated to the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest, in relative emergency, following smoke inhalation.
