Héloïse Winand, serving, increased the score from 11-12 to 15-12 in the second set. A lead contested by the Tchalou team, returning to 20-19. A block from Céline Vander Vorst, followed by a good attack from Laure Gilson and an excellent serve from Héloïse Winand allowed the visiting side to win the second set (25-21).
The Chaumontoises were completely holed up in the third set: “#Our opponents raised their level of play. Tchalou’s girls served much better,” observed Dorota Wrzochol, the coach visited.
Surprise or not surprise ?
While the Chaumontoises increased their level of play compared to the previous set, the Tchalou girls made a lot of mistakes. It didn’t take much for the visiting team to take off in the fourth set with Maylis Mailleux and Céline Vander Vorst prominently at the net: “We have just delivered our best match of the season“, soulignait Dorota Wrzochol. “Maylis Mailleux was injured, she is back in action. It was not easy to win in attack against this Tchalou team which was very efficient in defense. If we take the ranking into account, our victory is a surprise. On the level of play that we have developed, it is not one of them. Girls are capable of doing very good things“.
