The Red Devils will face Italy this Thursday at home. The pitch at the King Baudouin stadium should be “in perfect condition”, although we feared the worst.
Last week, Union Saint-Gilloise played at the Stade Roi Baudouin against AS Roma in the Europa League. At the end of the match, Charles Vanhoutte declared that he was worried about the Red Devils: the pitch was indeed in a poor state.
The Devils will play this Thursday evening against Italy at the Stade Roi Baudouin, but fortunately, the state of the grass should be very different in the meantime.
At least that’s what Pierre Clam, general director of the sports department of the City of Brussels, declared in Het Laatste Nieuws. “The land will be in perfect condition,” he says.
“Our land manager from Green Consult works in collaboration with our gardeners from Green Concept, the land is worked intensively twice a day,” he continues. “Everything is also closely monitored by the URBSFA greenkeepers. The weather forecast is good, so we don’t foresee any problems.”
“But we are doing our best with the means at our disposal. Against Italy, the pitch should not be a significant negative factor in any case,” concludes Clam. Already good news for the national team.
