The three bodies were discovered by the father this Tuesday, November 12 in Taninges, early in the afternoon. An investigation into “intentional homicide” was opened.

Taninges, a village nestled in the Giffre valley, was the scene of a tragedy on Tuesday. Two boys aged 2 and 11 and a girl aged 13 were found dead in a house located in this commune of Haute-Savoie, we learned Le Figaro from a source at the gendarmerie, confirming the information from Dauphiné Libéré .

The children were discovered by the father of the youngest of the siblings. Dispatched to the scene around 12:30 p.m., emergency services were only able to note the deaths, firefighters said.. The mother, aged 45 and depressed, is “actively sought”declared Boris Duffau, prosecutor of Bonneville, in a press release. “Several hearings of the close entourage of this blended family are underway”specifies the prosecutor, adding that a flagrant investigation for “voluntary homicides” was opened. “Autopsies and additional assessments will be quickly carried out by the Medico-Legal Institute (IML), but from the first findings, it is established that the victims have stab wounds”.

A letter found

According to our information, no less than 60 gendarmes are engaged, belonging to the Bonneville company, the Chambéry Research Section, the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR), the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM), as well as as technicians from the Haute-Savoie criminal identification unit (CIC). A helicopter from the Chamonix Air Section and divers from Aix-les-Bains, and Évian are also mobilized to find the fleeing mother.

According to The Dauphiné Libéréthe mother of the three children would have left a letter before heading towards the mountains surrounding the town shortly after the discovery of the bodies by their father. On Tuesday, gendarmes blocked access to a small isolated alley where the house where the tragedy allegedly took place is located, at the exit of the town, noted an AFP journalist. In the village there were also gendarmes from the Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG). Criminal identification specialists left the scene around 8 p.m., shortly before a funeral home removed the bodies of the three children.

Taninges is a town of 3,500 inhabitants approximately 50 km east of Geneva. “A medico-psychological emergency unit has been set up at Taninges town hall», specifies the prosecutor in a press release sent tou Figaro.
