Originally from Haute-Saône, this man, unfavorably known to the justice system and the police, has 20 convictions on his criminal record. He was released from prison in February 2024. He refutes the facts with which he is accused. According to him, he was not present in Besançon on the day of the act. This is contradicted by the city's video surveillance cameras. He was indicted for “murder by an organized gang, attempted murder by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy in an organized gang, in connection with drug trafficking” and placed in pre-trial detention. Investigations are continuing to shed light on this matter.
