three suspects brought before the prosecution

They are suspected of being involved in the death of a fifty-year-old on Sunday October 10 near the canal.

Not two but too many people were arrested after the murder of a 58-year-old man in the town of Marcq-en-Barœul (North), Sunday November 10.

Requested by BFM Grand , the prosecution indicates that the defendants were referred Tuesday evening. All dispute their involvement in the victim's death. Among them, there are at least two homeless men, including a 50-year-old.

“A judicial investigation is open on the charge of intentional homicide in a state of obvious intoxication,” specifies the public prosecutor.

The emotion of the mayor of the town

The events took place on Chemin du Halage, not far from the Burger King and Centrakor car parks. The fifty-year-old was walking a friend's dog in the evening when he was attacked with a knife.

A jogger who arrived after the attack tried to revive the victim by performing cardiac massage on her. But she succumbed to her injuries before help arrived.

This murder triggered strong emotion among the mayor of Marcq-en-Barœul, Bernard Gérard. Coming to offer his condolences to the relatives of the fifty-year-old killed, he expressed surprise that the events occurred “in an urban area, with shops nearby”, in an area where “a lot of people walk”.

The councilor sees it as “an extremely rare phenomenon and an extremely rare tragedy” and hopes that “something so sad and so terrible will never happen again”.
