Patch Tuesday, decryption of Windows 11 update KB5046633

Microsoft is behind a new Windows 11 cumulative update, KB5046633. It arrives on the occasion of Patch Tuesday in November 2024. Its installation makes it possible to correct dozens of security vulnerabilities, one of which is of critical severity.

KB5046633 arrives as part of Microsoft's major monthly maintenance. Its distribution is ensured by Windows Update with automatic downloading and installation so you don't have to do anything. Windows 11 and KB5046633, what's new?

Microsoft closes 31 vulnerabilities, one of which is of critical severity. It is known under the reference CVE-2024-43625 and concerns the VMSwitch (Virtual Machine Switch) component. It is problematic when operating a virtualization solution on Windows Server environments. This is an elevation of privilege vulnerability, which may allow an unauthorized user to obtain higher privileges than intended.
