Several homes were deprived of gas this Tuesday, November 12 in Fumay in the Ardennes.
During earthmoving work, a construction machine accidentally ripped out a gas pipe this morning around 10 a.m., causing a leak on the GrDF distribution network on rue Paul Plançon.
The firefighters, who quickly intervened, established a security perimeter to secure the area.
As a precaution, five homes were evacuated and fourteen other people were temporarily confined in eighteen homes.
After several hours of intervention, they were able to return to their home.
To stop the leak, GRDF had to cut the pipe in an adjacent street.
As a result of this outage, 50 homes are deprived of gas while repairs are carried out, which should be completed by the end of the day, specifies SDIS08.
