The three bodies were discovered by the father this Tuesday, November 12 in Taninges, early in the afternoon. An investigation into “intentional homicide” was opened.
Two boys aged 2 and 11 and a girl aged 13 were found dead on Tuesday in a house located in Taninges, in Haute-Savoie, we learned from the gendarmes. The children were discovered by the father of the youngest sibling, according to the Dauphiné Libéré .
The mother, aged 45 and depressed, is “actively sought”declared Boris Duffau, prosecutor of Bonneville, in a press release. “Several hearings from the close entourage of this blended family are currently underway”he clarified, adding that a flagrant investigation for “voluntary homicides” was opened. “Autopsies and additional assessments will be quickly carried out by the Grenoble Medico-Legal Institute (IML), but from the first findings, it is established that the victims have stab wounds”.
According to The Dauphiné Libéréciting a source close to the case, the mother of the three children left a letter before heading to the mountains surrounding the town of Taninges shortly after the discovery of the bodies by their father. “A medico-psychological emergency unit has been set up at Taninges town hall» specifies the prosecutor in a press release sent tou Figaro.
Around sixty gendarmes mobilized
Dispatched to the scene around 12:30 p.m., emergency services were only able to note the deaths, firefighters said.. According to the Dauphiné Libéré, “around sixty gendarmes are mobilized: soldiers from the Bonneville company, the Chambéry Research Section, the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR) and the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) as well as technicians from the Haute-Savoie criminal identification unit (CIC). “The helicopter of the Chamonix Air Section, Choucas 74, is also associated with the gendarmerie system to carry out reconnaissance of the sector, in support of the soldiers of the Bonneville company” advance The Dauphiné Libéré.
Gendarmes blocked access to a small isolated alley where the house where the tragedy allegedly took place is located, at the exit of the town, noted an AFP journalist. In the village there were also gendarmes from the Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG). Criminal identification specialists left the scene around 8 p.m., shortly before a funeral home removed the bodies of the three children. Taninges is a commune of 3,500 inhabitants in the Giffre valley, approximately 50 km east of Geneva.
