President Bassirou Diomaye participated yesterday in Riyadh at the Arab-Islamic Summit, where leaders of the Arab and Islamic world gathered to address the crises in Palestine and Lebanon. This international meeting aimed to establish a coordinated response to the escalation of violence, particularly in the Gaza region and Lebanon.
During this meeting, representatives adopted a significant 38-point resolution, emphasizing the urgency of an immediate ceasefire to end hostilities. This decision, supported by President Diomaye, also highlighted the protection of civilian populations, disproportionately affected by ongoing conflicts.
The summit's final declaration reaffirms the commitment of participating States to work together to restore peace and calls on the international community to intensify its mediation efforts. Recalling the principles of solidarity and cooperation, President Diomaye underlined the importance of this call in the fight for lasting stability in the Middle East.
