Iranian ambassador to return to Lebanon after recovering from injuries caused by pager explosion

Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, will return to Beirut once he recovers from injuries sustained when his pager exploded in September, the official Iranian news agency reports More news.

The diplomat was injured in the face by the explosion of his pager, one of the thousands of devices distributed by Hezbollah, previously trapped by the Mossad. Following the explosion, the ambassador was flown to Tehran for treatment. Mehr News does not specify whether the latter has fully recovered.

According to some reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed, during a meeting with Mojtaba Amani, the “need to take all necessary measures to immediately stop the crimes of the Zionist regime against Lebanon.” The minister also gave the ambassador the “necessary instructions for the coming period”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly acknowledged on Sunday and for the first time that Israel was responsible for these coordinated explosions.

More than 3,287 people have been killed in Lebanon since the start of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in October 2023.
