Firefighters heavily mobilized for fires in two companies in Lot-et-Garonne

Two companies in Lot-et-Garonne fell prey flames this Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The first disaster began shortly after 9 a.m. at Passage d’Agen, in the rendering plant.

Animal meal

A fire destroyed 20 tonnes of animal meal in a pile of 700 tonnes stored in a 2000m² building.

Eight firefighters were mobilized. They overcame the fire thanks to ventilation of the premises and the use of a foam mat.

Fortunately, this fire caused no casualties and no technical unemployment measure was not taken.

Sunflower in a silo

A little later in Nérac, emergency services were called for a major fire in a grain silo. 20 tons of sunflowers burned. The twenty firefighters deployed unloaded the silo and extinguished the fire.

Here too, no measure of technical unemployment was not necessary.
