The re-election of Donald Trump is linked to the politicization of hatred of women and minorities. A trend which is expressed in Europe and in France, against which we must mobilize now.
Hangover. The presidential victory of an openly misogynistic man, convicted of sexual assault, and who made numerous degrading and sexist remarks throughout his campaign. A victory which owes little to chance, but much to a general trend, including in Europe and France: the politicization of hatred of women and gender minorities. Hate won there. Against her, we must organize ourselves so that she does not prevail here.
Because Trump has been unraveling women’s fundamental rights for years: in June 2022, American women lost the federal guarantee of the right to abortion, after his appointment a few years earlier of three conservative judges to the Supreme Court. In 2023, he was civilly ordered to pay $83 million in damages for sexual assault.
