Guest on the show Cope’s Great GameRodri, Ballon d’Or 2024, spoke about who, in his opinion, deserved to finish in 2nd place on the podium. And surprise, the Spaniard does not cite Vinicius.
On October 28, Rodri won the Ballon d’Or in the center of Paris, ahead of Madrilenians Vinicius and Jude Bellingham in the number of votes.
But for the Spanish midfielder, a player was missing from the podium. While the Ballon d’Or vote is reserved for journalists, Rodri explained that if he had been asked to vote, he would have awarded 2nd place to his national team teammate, Dani Carvajal.
“I would have voted for Carvajal 2nd and Vinicius 3rd for the Ballon d’Or.” explains the 2024 winner on the show Cope’s Great Game.
As a reminder, the points collected by each player in the Top 30 were revealed a few days after the Ceremony. Rodri finished first with 1170 points, 41 points more than Vinicius who had 1129.
Dani Carvajal brought his total to 550 points after his Euro and his Champions League won in 2024.
