The central police station in Toulouse was the target of a bomb threat this Sunday, November 10, 2024.
An individual contacted the emergency number 17, claiming that the building was going to “explode”. The call was quickly traced, allowing the authorities to identify and apprehend the author of this threat as reported by Actu.fr.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m., when the Toulouse emergency police received this alarming phone call. “The police station is going to explode,” the man said on the phone, according to a police source.
Faced with such a statement, the police took no risks: the call was analyzed to locate the line and confirm the identity of the caller.
A few hours later, in the afternoon, the police arrested the alleged perpetrator of this threat, a 44-year-old man, at his home in the Barrière district of Paris.
Immediately placed in police custody at the central police station in Toulouse, he was still there this Monday evening, awaiting a psychiatric assessment in order to assess his motivations and his mental state.
This incident serves as a reminder that prank calls of this type can lead to serious consequences, including legal action and sanctions.
