More than two years after the cruel murder of little Lola, her family speaks to Faustine Bollaert, in her show It starts todayon 2, this November 12. But where is the matter? What does the suspect, Dahbia B., risk and when should she be judged?

Murder of Lola: what is the suspect accused of and what does she risk?

On October 14, 2022, while her parents were worried about not seeing Lola return from school, the body of the 12-year-old girl was found in a briefcase by a homeless person. Surveillance videos from the building in which the family lived, in the 19th arrondissement of , showed that the young girl had gotten into the building’s elevator with an unknown woman. Quickly placed in police custody, the young woman, named Dahbia B., 26, confessed to having sexually abused the little girl and to having killed her. The autopsy revealed that Lola died of asphyxiation.

Last September, an assize trial was requested against Dahbia B. for murder of a minor under 15 years old “accompanied by rape, torture or barbaric act” et “rape of a minor with torture or barbaric act“. It is the investigating judge who will decide on the postponement of the trial to the Assizes if the two offenses are upheld. These two accusations carry a life sentence.

As for the man who had driven the accused with the trunk, in his car, and who had welcomed her into his home for a few hours on the evening of the tragedy, he had been indicted for concealment of a corpse. But a dismissal of the case was requested by the prosecution.

When should Dahbia B.’s trial take place?

The psychiatric assessments carried out made it possible to conclude that a personality “severe pathological” et “high criminological danger” of the indictment, according to The Parisian. The latest elements indicate that Dahbia B. is therefore criminally responsible: she was not “suffering, at the time of the facts, from a psychological disorder having abolished or altered his discernment and control of his actions” et “can answer for his actions before a court. The trial of the accused is expected to take place in 2025.

“I feel a lot of anger”: what Lola’s mother expects from the trial

Little Lola’s father died of a heart attack last February, after having plunged back into alcohol following the tragedy. As for the victim’s mother, she is waiting for the trial to know the “answers“of the accused, according to her confidences in Figaro. “We always ask ourselves the question why. Why did the ‘other’ do this? Why Lola? Why all this? For what ? I feel a lot of anger towards this person. I hope the trial can help me understand the why and the how. I might not get the answers I’m looking for. We’ll see then if she speaks.“.
