When Bouygues Telecom launches an offensive
The release of the brand new B&You Pure fiber had the effect of a bomb in the telecoms sector. And it's legitimate: Bouygues Telecom dared to launch on the market an offer that many Internet users dreamed of: an Internet offer without fuss or frills. In short: Bouygues Telecom was the first to display an internet box without a TV decoder or landline. A modem, alone.
And bet that holds waterwhen we observe a significant drop in the use of landlines and TV boxes. Many homes are in fact equipped with Smart TVs and make calls with their smartphone. But to be sure to please, the operator had to equip it with the latest technologies. And this is indeed what the operator offers.
This B&You Pure fiber box is equipped with XGS-PON fiber compatibility, which allows it to increase up to 8 Gb/s in download and also includes the Wi-Fi 6E standardone of the most powerful on the market.
As you will have understood, Bouygues Telecom has pulled out all the stops to attract new customers. But the operator is not getting excited about the price: it is displaying its brand new ultra-powerful box at an unbeatable price: €23.99/month (remember this price), with no time limit and no commitment !
Of course, this is an introductory offer and one could assume that the operator will soon increase its price, but for now, it is one of the most competitive boxes on the market.
Free hits back with a special offer
We would have been surprised if Free did not respond… because, usually, it is he who has surprises in store for us similar to that of Bouygues Telecom. To counter its competitor's new box, Free decided to bet on a promotional price on your historic box : the Freebox Revolution Light.
Usually billed at €29.99 per month with no duration limit, it is now at €23.99 for one year (then €29.99/month). Yes, Free has aligned itself with the price of B&You Pure fiber. Coincidence or desire to align? Everyone will think what they want…
But if we had to compare the services of these two boxes and determine the winner, it would not be an easy task. Because the Freebox Revolution Light is a triple play box, which therefore includes a TV decoder as well as a landline. For the price, we would therefore rather give the point to the Freebox, which includes more services.
In terms of connectivity, however, the two boxes have nothing to do with each other: B&You Pure fiber is 8 times more powerful fiber and has much newer Wi-Fi.
One thing is certain, the audiences targeted by each of these offers are clearly not the same. Free decides to attract families and TV decoder regulars, while Bouygues Telecom hopes to attract technophiles and thrifters who do not want to commit
