ESME took up the blind football challenge!

One of the most memorable moments of the stay was the introduction to blind football, a sport for visually impaired people. The young players had to take on unusual challenges: playing with their eyes masked, moving only following the voice of their guide, keeping the ball close to them thanks to the sound of the bells inside, and attempting shots on goal. This experience required concentration and a lot of listening.

Yvan Wouandji, former player of the French blind football team, was impressed by their seriousness and their commitment. Sport brings together all levels of society and this session was very successful because you played the game. Thank you.”

The meeting with Laure Boulleau

During their stay, the players had the chance to meet Laure Boulleau, former international and godmother of the “Sensationnelles” prize. She shared with them her journey, her successes and her advice. Inspiring and enriching exchanges for all.

But the girls' favorite moment was the ball tennis match against Laure and her former teammate, Marie Pinto. The young players gave the best of themselves, but Laure, a competitor at heart, was not ready to give up her place!

Madeleine Malonga's surprise

To end this intense week, the players had the honor of a surprise visit from Madeleine Malonga, judokate and Olympic champion. Coming specially to meet them, Madeleine shared her journey and addressed themes dear to young athletes: self-confidence, the importance of perseverance and managing difficult moments in sport. She encouraged the players to believe in themselves and see failures as steps towards success. To mark this special moment, Madeleine surprised the girls by showing them her precious gold medal. The young players, amazed, were able to hold it and feel the symbolic weight of this dream achieved. A magical moment, filled with pride and motivation for each of them.

Memories and great learning

This stay at Clairefontaine had a strong impact on the players. Shané, one of the young people on the team, confides: “We are all aware of how lucky we are to participate in this incredible project. We are infinitely grateful to the people who supervise us and organize each day so that everything goes perfectly. This stay will remain a precious memory in our youth, something we will never forget. This stay gave them even more motivation to continue to progress.

The club will use the money to create an inclusive gym with suitable equipment. “We want to offer a suitable space, because there is currently a lack of rooms and specific equipment,” confides Louis Ré, coach of the U18 women’s team at ES Molsheim. This project will provide regular workshops and establish the club as a model of inclusion in sport.
