Comparison of fuel prices in Luxembourg, , Belgium & Germany

In the Greater Region, going to the pump is a little more expensive at the start of the month than at the end of October. But the global market does not suggest a spectacular rise in prices for the weeks to come.

Last month, going to the pump in the Grand Duchy cost more than in September: + 2.2% for diesel, + 1.8% for gasoline, estimates Statec. And this phenomenon of raising prices was common to the entire Greater Region, even if the prices displayed at service stations are far from having returned to the highest levels.

However, globally, demand is slow to recover. A slowing economy hardly pushes producing countries to want to increase the price of Brent. A trend accentuated by the announcement of the recovery plan from China – a major consumer – which did not live up to the expectations of certain OPEC members. Winter could therefore be “mild” in terms of the values displayed when filling up with fuel or fuel for domestic heating.
