gold and silver happy for the Haut-Marnais in Monteux (84)

Two Haut-Marnais were in Monteux (), for the French Masters championships. Kévin Bouly returns with gold and Adeline Cristofoli with silver. Everyone is happy!

By taking the road to Vaucluse, to reach Monteux, scene of the French championships, the Haut-Marnais Kévin Bouly and Adeline Cristofoli intended to climb to the highest step of the podium. The resident of Longeau-Percey succeeded, like last year. The Langroise finished second, like a year ago. A look back at these French championships which satisfied the two weightlifters.

Yet another French champion title for Kévin Bouly

Well prepared for this deadline, Kévin Bouly, licensed in , was the big favorite to not only retain his title, but win yet another one. “I stopped counting!” », recognizes the Haut-Marnais, before hitting the road again, a new gold medal in his business.

Monday November 11, although a public holiday, Kévin Bouly was on set at 10 a.m. Wide awake, good footing, good eye, he started the snatch at 123 kg, “to secure the title, because the one behind me was at 108 kilos. »

While, logically, at the start of the season, weightlifters go from “five to five” for the different weights of the bars, Kévin Bouly has chosen to go directly to 130 kilos. A successful bar. But it’s not over! His French record being 137 kilos, the resident of Longeau-Percey requested 138 kilos. A bar “that I narrowly missed, but I was ahead. »

Time for the clean and jerk. Kévin Bouly “assures at 150 kilos”, then at 160 kg. The problem, for Haut-Marnais, “is that I no longer had an option for the French clean and jerk record, which I hold, at 175 kg, and for the total, which I hold also, with 312 kg. » As a result, he has to settle for a bar weighing 170 kilos. More than enough for a new title.

Even without the French records, Kévin Bouly is satisfied with his competition and explains why. “It’s the start of the season. This reassures me, especially since I managed 170 kilos with a margin and I barely missed 138 kilos in the snatch. I have one arm that has unfolded, the other has not… Despite everything, it bodes well for the future. »

From Saturday November 16, in Reims, for the second round of the French “Top 9” club championships. “There will be no surprises,” declares Kévin Bouly. “During this triangular, we will face big teams. By winning the triangular, on the first day, against and Monteux, we almost assured our stay in the “Top 9”. »

Without pressure, it is very possible that Haut-Marnais will “retry the French record at 138 kilos. » And Kévin Bouly concludes: “this time, by team, the strategy is different. This can be attempted. » On an individual level, we will have to wait until 2025 to see Kévin Bouly in competitions. In April, there will be the French Masters championships, and in May, in Albania, the European championships. An appointment has been made.

Money and confidence for Adeline Cristofoli

I didn’t want to have done all these kilometers for nothing! »

Result, with six bars out of six, 64 kg in the snatch and 77 kg in the clean and jerk, Adeline Cristofoli, like last year, is vice-champion of France, in no way disappointed and explains why. “It’s been a long time since I played a match like that, and what’s more, with a smile on every bar! It’s the start of the season. These are my records. These are bars that give you confidence for the future and when Jean-Louis (Gudin, the president of Langres weightlifting) is happy and pays a compliment, it’s worth all the gold in the world! »
