“Of all my reviews, this is the worst!” : Marine (Star Academy) collapses in tears after the evaluations

Like every week, the apprentice singers of the Star Academy took their assessments. This Monday, November 11 marks the start of the week of surprises: an ordeal that Marine did not cope very well, to the point of ending in tears…

No public holiday for academicians. Michael Goldman had warned the Star Ac' students: the week was going to be full of surprises. Mystery visits are planned every day. After Jarry who came this Saturday, November 9 to the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, it was Julien Doré that the candidates saw arrive on Sunday, during Marlène Schaff's debrief.

This Monday, November 11, a new twist for budding singers. Michael Goldman came to tell them that the assessments would take place a day in advance. After drawing a song, the academicians had one hour to prepare it and then perform it in front of the teaching team. Marine came across a song by Juliette Armanet: “What matters”. As she finished her performance, the native disconcerted her teachers: she hit the ground with a big blow. “No, it's in my head”, she explained to the director who asked her what was going on. Before speaking directly to the theater teacher: Hugues, you're not ready, next theater class I'm going to make a killing! You're not going to understand anything! That's it, I'm ready.”

Under pressure, Marine cracks

A remark which left the teachers rather doubtful. But which took on its full meaning when Marine came out. “I laughed because otherwise I was going to cry…“, she admitted, suppressing her sobs. Sad and disappointed with her performance, the young singer went to isolate herself in the girls' room. Collapsed in her bed, Marine began to grumble: “I wasn’t into it, I don’t know, they didn’t like it! I'm too lazy to be appointed there, that's okay. It showed in my head too, I talked too much! I have to stop talking, you have to shut up sometimes!

After joining her, her friend Julie tried to comfort her: “You asked me for honesty, I'll give you some. Really it was very good what you did.” Soft, soothing words that don't seem to have had much effect. “I have the impression that of all my evaluations, this is the worst !”replied the dentist. Before adding: “I wasn't even into it because I had the impression that they weren't into it. Sometimes it was wrong, but I tried to be intentional, I really thought about what I was singing but with the stress it didn't work, I think. I saw in the looks of Marlene, Sofia and everyone that it wasn't enough and I didn't convince them.“To be continued…
