THE SPORT SCAN – Silvan Wallner, a 22-year-old former Swiss international hopeful, has announced that he is ending his football career because he no longer wishes to play on Saturdays “for commercial purposes”.
Five matches at the club and curtain. Silvan Wallner, Swiss defender of FC Blau-Weiss Linz, announced that he was ending his career on Sunday, at just 22 years old. “I am a believing Christian and I read the Bible”explained the footballer through a press release published by the Austrian club.
“I want to follow Jesus Christ and the biblical day of rest has become important to me. For me, as a professional, this means that from now on I do not want to play football on Saturdays for commercial purposes.detailed Wallner, formerly of FC Zürich who arrived in Linz this summer, and who honored three selections with the Swiss under-21 team.
