Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are still fighting at the top of La Liga for the leadership position. The events of the 13th day allowed the ranking to tighten in Spain at all levels.
The 13th day of La Liga shuffled the cards a little more. Real Madrid crushed Osasuna (4-0) and was thus able to take advantage of FC Barcelona’s error at Real Sociedad (1-0). Six points separate the two Clasico rivals knowing that Real has a game in hand to play.
Atlético de Madrid triumphed with difficulty over Mallorca and also moved back into third position (0-1). Villarreal easily beat Alavés while Athletic Bilbao and Betis Sevilla were held to a draw. Girona revives against Getafe and puts itself back in the race for European places. Valencia CF, currently last, has not yet played following the deadly floods in the Valencia region. None of the four teams at the bottom of the ranking won this weekend. So, the predictions of Opta become clear.
