Following the fire which broke out at the Pré clinic, in Le Mans, in the emergency airlock dedicated to ambulances on Sunday morning November 10, 2024, the director of the establishment set up a temporary organization of the service inter-establishment transfers.
The damage is only material, fortunately there were no injuries to staff or patients.
explains director Béatrice Boudaud. The fire alarm went off, the nurses and all the staff were very responsive. We are extensively trained in fire drills and the nurses had the right reflexes
. The firefighters also been very fast. They are close to the clinic and came in large numbers and almost immediately
. Two factors which allowed to limit and control the fire in the airlock before it spreads to the clinic
.
The origin of the fire unknown
The burnt airlock welcomed ambulances coming to drop off patients from other establishments or continuing care so that they could be taken care of by doctors from the Pré clinic. We have deported this service. Reception will be temporarily in the entrance hall.
This would affect few patients per day. This will not disrupt the organization of the clinic
promises Béatrice Boudaud.
The origin of the fire is currently unknown. An investigation is underway.
