To try to solve the murder of a prostitute stabbed several times 15 years ago in Amsterdam (Netherlands), the police projected her hologram into the street.
A first to try to solve a murder. Dutch investigators have launched a shock campaign to gather information on the assassination of Betty Szabo, a 19-year-old prostitute, killed with around ten stab wounds behind the windows of the red light district of Amsterdam (Netherlands) in February 2009.
In fact, the Dutch police are broadcasting a hologram of the sex worker in the area until November 15, enough to challenge passers-by. She is pictured wearing denim mini shorts, a leopard print bra and gray high heels. His 3D silhouette appears larger than life and even leans into the foggy window to write “Help” on it. Alongside the technology, the stages of his arrival in Amsterdam in 2008 are retraced.
The police hope that this realistic representation, used for the first time, will draw attention to this cold case in order to gather valuable information despite the in-depth investigations.
A foreign aggressor?
According to investigators, it is almost impossible that no one has seen or heard anything, the murder of the young Hungarian having occurred in a tourist spot in the capital.
The police analyzed video surveillance images and questioned numerous people and are now offering 30,000 euros to encourage potential witnesses to speak.
The vast majority of people peering at the scantily clad women behind the red neon windows are tourists. The police therefore suspect a foreign attacker.
Murdered three months after giving birth to her son, Betty Szabo was discovered dead by two other prostitutes in the early hours of February 20, 2009 in her dedicated room. Her child was placed in foster care.
