PARIS, France – The WTA tournaments of the past week did not give rise to any upheavals within the rankings, with the top-10 unchanged and still quietly dominated by Iga Swiatek. The former queen of the circuit, the Japanese Naomi Osaka, continues her comeback.
Behind the unbeatable Swiatek, the American Coco Gauff and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka still complete the podium. None of the three played last week.
On the Canadian side, Leylah Fernandez remains the highest ranked player, retaining her 33rd place. Rebecca Marino follows in 144th place, an increase of 13 places. Finalist in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Bianca Andreescu gained 65 places and is now 163rd.
Osaka, who stopped in the quarter-finals of the Bois-Le-Duc tournament, continued her comeback and gained 12 places (113th).
The Japanese, back this year after more than a year of break and who was also authorized to participate in the Paris Olympic Games, was playing her first tournament on grass in five years in the Netherlands.
